Dragons Widget Baseball Championship Bound!!

SPPS Widget Dragons Baseball racked up 13 hits and was backed by stellar pitching to defeat Good Shepherd, 10 runs to 4; Earn a spot in the American Division Championship Game.

The Dragons opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the first thanks to four hits from Anthony G, Nicholas H, Axton S, and Anthony S. The Dragons added one run in the second inning with a hit from Sam G and an RBI from Anthony G. The Dragons continued to add to their lead in the third inning with a triple from Joshua M, and an RBI from Anthony S, making the score 5 to 1 in favor of the Dragons.

SPPS Widget Dragons Baseball scored five runs on five hits in the top of the sixth inning. Anthony S singled, scoring one run, Mason L singled, scoring two runs, Mateo K grounded out, scoring one run, and Anthony G singled, scoring one run.

Anthony G started on the bump for SPPS Widget Dragons Baseball. The righty gave up four hits and one run over four innings, striking out eight batters. Alejandro P closed out the final two innings, striking out 3 batters.

SPPS Widget Dragons Baseball piled up 13 hits in the game. Anthony S drove the middle of the lineup, leading SPPS Widget Dragons Baseball with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Joshua M and Samuel G each collected multiple hits.

SPPS Widget Dragons Baseball advances to the American Division Championship Game, and awaits the winner of Good Shepherd (3rd) and Good Shepherd (4th) in the final semifinal game of the tournament.

The championship game will be on Tuesday, May 20, at Assumption Catholic School Baseball Field. The game start time is 5:00 PM.
